More than 1,300 domestic violence incidents occurred in Birmingham last month, West Midlands Police have revealed.
To try to help the victims of these offences, officers at Bournville Lane station have come up with an initiative to issue them with free mobile telephones.
Brass BangleThis will provide them with a vital life-line straight through to 999, and may help some women to break the chain of repeated T5 LED Tube T5 abuse.
WPc Joanne Byng, who is running the scheme, said: 'Many of these women are
without telephones, either because they cannot afford them or because they have been damaged due to the on-going problems.

'Victims can keep these phones in their handbags, and it will hopefully give them a little peace of mind.'
